Copywriting

Our copywriter was once proprietor and Editor in Chief of Biz Publishing Ltd and has written articles for The Mail on Sunday newspaper.

Jmez Media are cross disciplined copywriters, producing copy for web content, printed brochures, banners, magazines and newsletters, press-releases, sales letters, direct mail, blog posts and social media.

We research and fact-check subject matter, proof-read and edit existing text documents and optimise content for internet search engines. We are constantly involved with advertising campaigns and product launches and will advise on best practice and the pitfalls of plagiarism.

Photography

Professional photography is a skill increasingly undermined by mobile phone camera users and its amazing how many expensively printed brochures and catalogues are spoiled by the inclusion of off-focus or low resolution ‘amateur snaps’. Whilst such snaps are the result of ‘capturing the moment’ when a professional photographer isn’t on hand, we don’t advise including them in company web or print content unless a. they’re totally necessary or b. they are very good.

We photograph catalogue intended product-lines in strictly light-controlled settings and during more informal photo-shoots, make use of top quality equipment and lenses to produce the quality of image normally associated with high end magazine photography.

We have attended motor-racing events, talent and fashion shows, boxing arenas and the occasional wedding.! We have also filled sales catalogues and presentation brochures with high class images.

All images are provided to the client on memory stick. Selected images are ‘photoshopped’; airbrushed, cropped and ‘effected’ as required.

Videography

JmezMedia advocate Adobe Creative Suite products, preferring the work-flow bridge of Adobes multi-disciplined software. Videography has become commonplace, especially online and the speed of converting the filming process to editing and encoding is crucial in a fast moving world. Jmez Media are equipped with broadcast quality and action-cam cameras and accessories, making us ready to tackle virtually any scenario, from body worn cameras and audio to in-car, studio or workplace and event videography.

We encode video to suit social media websites, for owner website integration and for memory stick and DVD production. Commissions are subject to agreement and suitable policies/permissions and public liability insurance etc. We operate a strict code of conduct.

Training

With decades old experience in our field, Jmez Media provide one-to-one and group classes covering aspects of media marketing but more specifically;

Adobe Photoshop: The Basics | Intermediate | Creative Design and Professional Editing
Adobe Illustrator: Introduction to Vector Graphics | Advanced Vector Graphics
Adobe InDesign: Introduction to Desktop Publishing | Intermediate InDesign | Professional InDesign Production for Print
Adobe Premiere Pro: Video Editing – The Basics | Video Editing – Encoding | Video Editing – Web and DVD

Training is generally on a one to one basis though we will consider classes of up to eight pupils (learning Adobe is an intensive experience and success is reliant on concentration and a willingness to experiment and develop skills between and beyond class). ‘Expert’ Adobe users have typically been using the software for ten years or more and usually in a commercial design/editing environment.

As a creative skill it is extremely enjoyable and satisfying so training and exploring the software collection with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable trainer is time well spent.

Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Website Editing Training (WordPress & RipeWM)

Following the sale of our own CMS platform (Ripe Website Manager) in 2013, we now almost exclusively utilise WordPress, a clear market leader in web platform software. *Wordpress powers some of the largest profile businesses in the world: Bloomberg.. Sony.. Disney.. Microsoft News Centre.. Facebook.. Usain Bolt.. Marks & Spencer for business.. Playstation.. Mercedes Benz.. BBC America, Reuters Blogs and even Sweden’s official website..!

WordPress offers expansion and a degree of flexibility hitherto unheard of in web design yet with a little tuition, is as simple to use as creating a letter in Microsoft Word!

Jmez Media provide one on one and multi learner training classes, designed to introduce users to the core operations of WordPress and to tutor in the use of Themes and Plugins. We confidently expect trainees to quickly grasp the concept of WordPress and to become confident users/admins within the space of a series of six sessions. We also provide video tuition and release notes.

Please contact us to arrange your WordPress training.

Jmez Media developed Ripe Website Manager into a fully functional content management system using state of the art coding techniques.. but that was back in 2006 and we stopped development in 2009, selling the platform to a US company where today it forms the basis of their Management information system (MIS). We do however, still have a loyal client following for Ripe and still provide training and support when required.
